Los Arcos - Logroño (English)

I hope Oscar is reading the English posts because i think i only saw his comments under hungarian entries :P
So before i start being ridiculously humble, let me brag that i have walked ca 30 kms today! I am so early that the albergue is not even open, so i left my bag there and came to the library (free internet + finally i can upload stuff!) My knees are a little sore (the first part of the road had very steep downhills, that was hard) but ok.
I'm in Logroño, in the region of La Rioja and where the Ebro runs through. It looked like a scarily big city from above but turned out to be a really lovely town. They have a peregrino information office (i haven't seen such an office before) and a lot of shell decoration, fountains, trees and in general it's good looking and pleasant.
I'm particularly happy to find that it's so nice because i had planned to stop in Viana, 10 kms before Logroño but didn't because here's what happened (i'm not sure if those who have never been to a socialist country can understand why it was upsetting): i went into a shop and picked a tomato. When i saw after it was weighed that it's 20 dkg (i'm not even sure if that's possible), i decided it's too soft anyway, awkward to carry, i'll leave it in the shop. Went to the till with a tuna tin and the girl (after letting me wait for a few minutes) asked where the tomato is. I said i didn't want it, she goes, where is it, at the vegetables? I said yeah, although not quite there but my spanish is not sophisticated enough to explain that i left it at the fridge next to the vegetables because i was afraid to go back to the vegetables and let them see that i changed my mind. Then i heard shouting, saw the girl smoking at the back door (i was still at the till, stretching) and her boss came to the till. He didn't say a word, looked at the tin, took the money and I left. I wasn't sure what happened but it felt like they (or she) suspected that i stole 1 pc of tomato :-/ Bah. So i left Viana and came to Logroño and it was a good decision :)
I'll try to upload photographs to the previous posts, so check them out (i'll add the pictures to the Hungarian entries always) :)
And yesterday I met a group of 12 Hungarian cyclists, it was good to drink some home-brew (palinka) and chat with them.
I left at 6 am, after a bit of warm up and stretching with an Oz girl (i don't understand why i never did it before leaving in the morning! I always do it only when i'm aching and that seems to be fine too) and walked alone all day - it was so good! I'm staying in the municipal albergue tonight, so i don't expect a lot of sleep.
Eh, the session ends in 10 minutes, not sure about uploading pictures :(
